Are Caraway products really free of PFAS, PFOA, and PTFE?
Yes. All Caraway cookware and bakeware is made without PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), including PFOA and PTFE, which are commonly used in traditional non-stick coatings. Our formulations are engineered without these chemicals, and independent third-party labs test the materials that touch your food to confirm PFAS are not detected within the methods' reporting limits. You can view the PFAS test reports for each collection in the results listed on this page.
What does "non-toxic" mean for Caraway cookware and bakeware?
When we say "non-toxic," we mean that our products are designed without a long list of chemicals of concern and are tested to meet strict food-contact safety standards when used as intended. That includes formulating our coatings and substrates without PFAS (including PFOA and PTFE) and testing for heavy metals such as lead and cadmium in accordance with regulatory guidance (for example, California Proposition 65 and relevant food-contact standards). Our third-party lab reports show that the materials used in Caraway products comply with these limits under normal cooking conditions.
What substances do you test for in third-party labs?
Our independent lab partners run a panel of tests focused on chemicals that matter most in the kitchen. Depending on the product line, testing may include: PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), including PFOA and other legacy compounds; PTFE and related fluoropolymers; Heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, and other extractable metals under food-contact conditions; Other regulated substances identified by state and federal agencies for cookware and food-contact materials. Each report lists exactly what was tested, the methods used, and the results, so you can see the details for the specific product you own (or are considering).
Who performs your third-party testing, and how does it work?
Caraway works with independent, accredited laboratories that specialize in testing food-contact materials. These labs receive representative samples of our products or materials, run standardized tests (for example, migration and leach testing in food-simulating solutions, PFAS screening, and heavy-metal analysis), and issue written reports that summarize methods, detection limits, and results. We review these findings with our quality and product teams and use them to validate our safety claims and inform future product development. Where possible, we publish the same reports here so you can review the data yourself.
How can I see the full lab reports for my product?
On this page, you'll find testing results organized by collection and product type. Each entry links to a downloadable report (or summary) from our third-party lab partners. Look for the product name you own or plan to buy, then select "View Test Report" to see the full details, including what was tested, the methods used, and the results. If you don't see the product you're looking for, our team can help you find the most relevant report via our support channels.
